Blood plasma

•Blood plasma is a yellowish liquid component of blood that holds the blood cells in whole blood in suspension.
•It is the liquid part of the blood that carries cells and proteins throughout the body. It makes up about 55% of the body's total blood volume.
•Plasma also called Blood Plasma is the single largest component of human blood.
•Functions:
a) maintain blood pressure and volume
b) Supply critical proteins for blood clotting andimmunity
c) Carries electrolytes such as sodium and potassium to our muscles and
d) Helps to maintain a proper pH balance in the body which supports cell function.
