Barhut Yakshi

•Barhut Yakshi-2nd century BCE
•Yaksh cult was not a small, rural, or a private religion. It was popular, public and rural+urban cult with many yaksha images built in colossal sizes and fine craftsmanship. It was  later absorbed into Hinduism as well as Buddhism.
•Shalabhanjika is sculpture of a woman, displaying stylised feminine features, standing near a tree and grasping a branch. In Sanskrit it means 'breaking a branch of a sala tree'.
